Nova GOLD Breakout EA MT5 Review & Free Download

Nova GOLD Breakout EA Overview

Nova GOLD Breakout is an automated MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor developed specifically for XAUUSD on the M1 timeframe. Its strategy is built around a clearly defined session range and attempts to trade the different ways Gold can react once that range is broken.

Instead of using a simple one-entry breakout model, Nova GOLD Breakout can respond to three main situations: the initial breakout, a retest of the broken range boundary, and a fallback move when the original breakout fails and price breaks through the opposite side of the range.

The EA uses a defined Stop Loss on every position and does not rely on Martingale or unlimited grid recovery. Its daily sequence is also capped, with a maximum of four trades available from one session range.

Nova GOLD Breakout is currently version 1.4, includes 10 activations, and is priced at $330 on the MetaTrader Market. A free Strategy Tester demo is also available.

How Nova GOLD Breakout Works

The main concept behind Nova GOLD Breakout is straightforward.

The EA first identifies a predefined market session and calculates the high and low of that range. Once the session is complete, those boundaries become the main reference points for the day’s trading.

Price can then behave in several ways.

It may break directly through one side of the range and continue moving in that direction.

It may break the range, pull back to the breakout level, and then continue.

Or it may produce a false breakout, reverse through the entire range, and break the opposite boundary.

Nova GOLD Breakout was designed to handle all three scenarios rather than assuming that the first breakout will always succeed.

This is particularly relevant to Gold because XAUUSD frequently produces sharp false breaks around session highs and lows before developing its actual directional move.

Stage One: Initial Breakout

The first trading stage is the conventional breakout entry.

Once Gold moves through the defined session boundary and the EA’s conditions are satisfied, Nova GOLD Breakout can open a position in the breakout direction.

For example, if price breaks above the range high, the system may enter a Buy.

If price breaks below the session low, it may enter a Sell.

Each position is protected by a predefined Stop Loss rather than being left open indefinitely.

This first stage is the simplest part of the strategy and resembles a traditional session breakout EA.

Where Nova GOLD Breakout becomes more distinctive is in what happens after the first entry.

Stage Two: Retest Entry

A major component of the system is the retest logic.

Gold frequently breaks an important level and then returns toward that same level before continuing.

A basic breakout EA may enter the initial move, get stopped during the pullback, and then miss the subsequent continuation.

Nova GOLD Breakout is designed to recognize a qualifying retest and potentially enter again in the original breakout direction.

For example, if Gold breaks above the range, advances sufficiently, and then returns toward the former resistance level, the EA may treat that pullback as a second opportunity rather than assuming the breakout has failed.

The developer describes the retest as a separate stage within the trading sequence.

This can make the EA more adaptable than a simple one-shot breakout system.

Stage Three: Fallback Trading

The third major component is fallback logic.

A fallback occurs when the original breakout does not simply retrace but completely fails.

Suppose Gold initially breaks above the session range and triggers a Buy. Instead of continuing higher, price reverses aggressively, crosses through the range, and eventually breaks the opposite boundary.

Nova GOLD Breakout can recognize this as a new directional opportunity and enter in the opposite direction.

The idea is that a failed breakout can itself contain valuable information.

A market that strongly rejects one direction and then breaks the opposite side of the range may be showing genuine directional momentum.

The system can also apply retest logic to this fallback move, creating a fourth possible trade within the same daily sequence.

Maximum Four Trades Per Day

Nova GOLD Breakout limits the trading sequence to four trades per session range.

These can potentially consist of:

  • Initial breakout
  • Breakout retest
  • Fallback breakout
  • Fallback retest

The important point is that the EA does not continue adding unlimited recovery positions.

The sequence has a defined structure and a hard limit.

This is significantly different from grid EAs that may keep opening positions indefinitely as the market moves against the basket.

A maximum-trade limit does not eliminate risk, but it places a clear ceiling on the number of entries one session can generate.

No Martingale

Nova GOLD Breakout does not use Martingale position sizing.

Martingale strategies usually increase position size after a loss in an attempt to recover previous losses when the next trade succeeds.

This can produce attractive historical win rates while creating substantial tail risk if a sufficiently long losing sequence occurs.

Nova GOLD Breakout instead uses defined trade risk and limits the daily trading sequence.

The absence of Martingale makes its risk structure considerably easier to evaluate because a failed breakout does not automatically cause the next position to become progressively larger.

No Unlimited Grid Recovery

The EA also avoids an unlimited grid recovery system.

This distinction is important because the presence of breakout, retest, and fallback positions could otherwise be confused with grid trading.

The additional trades are condition-based rather than simply being opened at fixed intervals whenever price moves adversely.

The EA reacts to specific events in the range structure.

Even so, users should remember that several positions can potentially become part of one daily sequence. The total risk from all allowed entries is therefore more important than considering only the first trade.

Defined Stop Loss On Every Trade

Every Nova GOLD Breakout position uses a defined Stop Loss.

This is one of the system’s strongest risk-management characteristics.

A Stop Loss allows each individual trade to reach a predefined failure point rather than relying on an eventual market reversal.

For Gold trading, this is particularly important because XAUUSD can develop extremely strong directional moves with very little retracement.

However, traders should remember that Stop Loss orders are still subject to execution conditions.

During very fast Gold movements, the actual closing price can differ from the requested stop because of slippage.

That makes broker quality particularly important on an M1 breakout strategy.

Take Profit Management

Nova GOLD Breakout also works with predefined Take Profit objectives.

The breakout and retest positions can share the same broader target area, depending on the configuration.

Later updates have expanded the EA’s position-management system by making its Break Even and trailing-stop behavior responsive to the percentage of progress made toward the Take Profit rather than relying entirely on fixed-point distances.

This is useful because Gold setups can vary substantially in size.

A trailing rule based on progress toward the target can adapt more naturally when one day’s trading range is considerably larger than another day’s.

Dynamic Break Even

Nova GOLD Breakout includes a dynamic Break Even system.

Rather than always activating Break Even after a fixed number of points, newer versions can trigger protection according to how far the trade has progressed toward its target.

This makes the system more proportional.

For example, a wider breakout setup does not necessarily need the same fixed Break Even distance as a much smaller setup.

The EA can also coordinate Break Even behavior across related breakout and retest positions.

Trailing Stop Management

Trailing-stop management has also been expanded.

When the relevant conditions are reached, the EA can progressively protect profitable positions rather than leaving the original Stop Loss unchanged.

Breakout and retest trades can be managed using a grouped protective level.

There is also an option to delay trailing and Break Even behavior until a retest position has actually been triggered.

This gives the system more flexibility in balancing early protection against allowing enough room for the breakout structure to develop.

News Filter

Nova GOLD Breakout includes an integrated economic-news filter.

The news system was significantly reworked during development.

The EA can temporarily remove Take Profit and Stop Loss levels around medium- and high-impact events and uses additional logic intended to prevent those levels from being restored too quickly while the protected news window remains active.

The system also includes weekday controls and Strategy Tester tools intended to make news-filter behavior easier to test historically.

This feature is especially relevant for Gold.

XAUUSD can become extremely volatile around major US economic releases, inflation reports, employment data, central-bank announcements, and interest-rate decisions.

Trading Window

Nova GOLD Breakout operates around a configurable session range.

This means users can control the period from which the high and low are calculated and the broader window during which the EA is allowed to trade.

The session approach is important because Gold behaves very differently throughout the trading day.

Liquidity may be relatively quiet during one session and then expand dramatically when European or US trading activity increases.

A range-breakout system attempts to use that transition from lower volatility to higher volatility as part of its edge.

Force Close Time

The EA also supports a configurable force close time.

This allows remaining positions to be closed once the intended trading session has ended.

The objective is to avoid carrying an intraday breakout trade indefinitely simply because neither the target nor the normal exit conditions were reached.

This is useful for traders who prefer a clearly defined intraday strategy rather than holding Gold positions overnight.

Weekday Controls

Users can independently enable or disable specific weekdays.

This can be useful when testing whether certain days have historically behaved differently under the breakout strategy.

For example, traders may want to compare Monday performance with midweek sessions or exclude days that consistently produce poorer results under their specific broker conditions.

However, disabling trading days should be based on meaningful testing rather than a very small historical sample.

XAUUSD M1 Setup

The official setup is:

Symbol: XAUUSD
Timeframe: M1

The EA is not marketed as a multi-symbol trading system.

It has been designed specifically around Gold and the short-term price structure needed for its session breakout logic.

The one-minute timeframe does not necessarily mean every position is a very short scalping trade.

The current live accounts show average holding times measured in hours rather than minutes.

M1 is primarily used as the chart resolution through which the EA manages the session structure and breakout sequence.

Broker Conditions Matter

Broker quality is particularly important for Nova GOLD Breakout.

The strategy depends on precise range boundaries and entries during periods when Gold can move rapidly.

Important broker characteristics include:

  • Tight XAUUSD spreads
  • Fast execution
  • Low slippage
  • Reliable pending and market order execution
  • Consistent Gold pricing
  • Suitable leverage
  • Stable server performance

The same set file can produce different results across brokers if spreads and execution vary substantially.

This is why Strategy Tester performance should not automatically be treated as a perfect representation of future live results.

VPS Use

A VPS is sensible for continuous Nova GOLD Breakout operation.

Because the EA trades according to fixed session timing, MetaTrader needs to remain running when the session range is formed and when the later breakout takes place.

A VPS helps prevent interruptions caused by:

  • Home internet failures
  • Power outages
  • Computer shutdowns
  • Operating-system updates
  • Accidentally closing MetaTrader

A low-latency connection to the broker can also help provide more consistent execution during fast Gold movements.

Prop Firm Focus

Nova GOLD Breakout is clearly positioned with prop-firm trading in mind.

The developer currently tracks the EA on two FTMO-related accounts: Nova 006, a $100,000 challenge account, and Nova 005, which is described as a funded account.

The product emphasizes defined risk, Stop Loss protection, controlled trading sequences, and limited daily trades rather than recovery-based exposure.

That structure can be more suitable for prop-account rules than an unlimited grid.

However, using an EA on a prop account still requires users to check the exact firm’s current rules concerning Expert Advisors, maximum loss, daily drawdown, news trading, position sizes, and other restrictions.

Nova 006 Live Signal

Nova 006 is currently the main publicly linked signal.

At the time checked, the account had started with $100,000 and showed approximately 5.5% growth, equivalent to around $5,494 in profit.

It had completed 18 trades, with 10 profitable and eight losing trades.

The recorded profit factor was approximately 2.01, while maximum balance drawdown was around 3.67% and maximum deposit load approximately 5.28%.

These statistics are encouraging, but the signal is still extremely young.

MQL5 itself warns that the number of trades is too small to properly evaluate trading quality and that results from a newly opened account may be random.

That warning is important and should not be ignored.

Nova 005 Funded Signal

Nova 005 provides another public account running the same core setup.

At the time checked, it had started with $10,000 and showed approximately 2.9% growth.

The account had recorded 26 trades, with 12 winners and 14 losers.

Its profit factor was around 1.29, and maximum deposit load was approximately 5.66%.

Again, the account history remains short.

The statistics are useful because they demonstrate that the strategy does not need an unusually high win rate to remain profitable if winning trades are sufficiently larger than losses.

However, substantially more trading history would be needed before drawing strong conclusions about long-term performance.

Win Rate Is Not The Whole Story

Nova GOLD Breakout illustrates why win rate alone can be misleading.

On one current live account, the win rate is around 55%, while another currently shows less than 50%.

Yet both accounts remain positive because the average profitable trades have been large enough to outweigh the losing trades.

This is generally a healthier structure than a strategy that requires a 90% win rate because its occasional losses are enormous.

That said, a favorable reward-to-risk profile does not guarantee future profitability.

A sufficiently long series of failed breakouts can still create meaningful drawdown.

Nova GOLD Breakout EA Price

Nova GOLD Breakout is currently listed at $330.

The EA previously launched at a much lower introductory price and has increased in price as development has progressed.

The license currently includes 10 activations, and a free demo can be downloaded for use in MetaTrader’s Strategy Tester.

At $330, it is no longer a low-cost EA.

Prospective buyers therefore have a strong reason to use the demo extensively before purchasing.

Testing should ideally include different historical market conditions rather than focusing only on a short period that produced attractive results.

Marketplace Feedback

Nova GOLD Breakout currently has limited customer feedback on MQL5.

The listing shows only one marketplace review, along with a relatively small number of comments and demo downloads compared with long-established EAs.

This does not necessarily indicate a problem.

The product is simply much newer than EAs that have been listed for several years.

However, it means independent user experience remains limited.

The public live accounts are therefore particularly important when evaluating the product.

Advantages Of Nova GOLD Breakout EA

Nova GOLD Breakout has several notable strengths.

Its trading logic is relatively easy to understand.

The EA defines a session range, trades the breakout, can re-enter on a retest, and can reverse its directional bias when the breakout completely fails.

This is considerably more transparent than a black-box system where the user has no idea why trades are being opened.

Other advantages include:

  • Defined Stop Loss on every trade
  • No Martingale
  • No unlimited grid recovery
  • Maximum four trades per session
  • Retest entries
  • Fallback logic
  • Dynamic Break Even
  • Trailing-stop management
  • News protection
  • Weekday controls
  • Force close functionality
  • Public live signals
  • Prop-firm-oriented risk structure
  • Free Strategy Tester demo

Disadvantages And Risks

The biggest limitation is the relatively short live track record.

Both currently promoted MQL5 signals are still new and contain relatively few trades.

Early results can look very different after several hundred trades and multiple changing Gold market conditions.

The strategy is also completely dependent on XAUUSD.

There is no diversification across currencies, indices, or other commodities.

Another consideration is that although the EA does not use Martingale or an unlimited grid, it can still execute several related trades during one session.

Users therefore need to understand the combined daily risk of breakout, retest, fallback, and fallback-retest positions.

Finally, M1 Gold trading can be highly sensitive to spread and execution differences.

Is Nova GOLD Breakout Suitable For Beginners?

Nova GOLD Breakout is relatively easy to understand compared with many complex Gold robots.

The underlying logic is transparent enough that a beginner can watch a visual backtest and understand why the system entered:

a range forms, price breaks out, a retest may occur, and a failed breakout may trigger a trade in the opposite direction.

The absence of Martingale also makes the risk structure easier to analyze.

However, beginners still need to understand position sizing and total daily exposure.

Four possible trades during one sequence means risk should be evaluated across the complete trading day rather than only one order.

Starting with the free Strategy Tester demo and conservative settings is therefore preferable to immediately using the EA on a large live or prop account.

Nova GOLD Breakout EA MT5 Review Verdict

Nova GOLD Breakout is a specialized XAUUSD M1 session-breakout Expert Advisor built around a clear three-stage trading concept: breakout, retest, and fallback.

Its biggest strength is the logic behind its trade sequence.

Many breakout robots effectively get only one chance. They enter when price breaks the session boundary and either win or lose.

Nova GOLD Breakout attempts to account for the messier reality of Gold trading by recognizing that a valid move can include a retest or that the first breakout can completely fail before the real directional move begins.

The EA’s risk structure is another positive.

Every position has a defined Stop Loss, Martingale is not used, and the system avoids unlimited grid recovery. Daily entries are also capped at four trades.

The dynamic Break Even, grouped trailing protection, news filtering, weekday controls, and session force-close feature further improve the trade-management package.

The main weakness is simply that the product and its current public signals remain relatively young.

The early live statistics are useful and, in some areas, encouraging, but the number of trades is still too small to provide strong evidence about long-term consistency.

Overall, Nova GOLD Breakout is most relevant to traders looking for a transparent, non-Martingale Gold breakout EA that can handle initial breakouts, retests, and failed-breakout reversals. Its controlled sequence is considerably easier to evaluate than an unlimited recovery strategy, but its $330 price and limited live history make extensive Strategy Tester and demo evaluation particularly important before live deployment.
