Vantage Point X is an automated forex trading system that implements Artificial Intelligence (AI) to analyse the forex market for trading signals on behalf of the user. When Vantage Point X detects a buy or sell trade according to its built-in trading algorithm, it can enter, manage and exit traders, without needing human intervention. As with the majority of forex robots, it has been developed to run in the popular MetaTrader platforms, MT4 and MT5. In this Vantage Point X review, we will take a look at the trading strategy it incorporates along with its features and performance.
Vantage Point X Trading Strategy
Vantage Point X uses three strategies simultaneously, using its own algorithmic strategies that the developer claims are copyrighted, in order to try and stay ahead of the forex market.
It will scan the charts that you load it on for trading signals. When it finds what it considers to be a valid signal, it will open a trade. There is a customisable money management system to manage the trades that it takes for the user. It can also close trades, thus making it a fully automated forex trading system.
Vantage Point X uses artificial intelligence to try and predict future fundamental events by analysing the previous ten years of data and places trades according to these findings.
The developers state that it is ready to use out of the box with the default settings. Vantage Point X was built to trade, and trade often. You can have a consistent flow of trades being drip fed into your account, so make sure that the risk size is set to a suitable level that you feel comfortable with.
They mention that it can automatically trades all forex pairs, commodities, Indices and even cryptocurrencies. I find that slightly confusing as I prefer for a trading strategy to be focus on a few currency pairs.
Taking a closer look at the Vantage Point X trading strategy, it seems to be using a martingale money management system and grid-based system. What this means, is that the forex robot can increase lot sizes to try to make up for drawdowns and will try to catch the market in whatever direction it moves.
Whilst this can work under certain market conditions, at other times it can lead to multiple trades open in the wrong direction. With increasing lot sizes, this can potentially cause a margin call or stop out, even more so when trading with high leverage. That being said, credit goes to the developer for implementing an equity protection feature to try and minimise draw downs in a worst-case scenario.
Personally, I would only start on a demo account to begin with until I become familiar with how the Vantage Point X EA works. Especially considering the fact it seems to be using a potentially dangerous martingale/grid-based system.
Furthermore, I would want to perform tick data back tests with 99% modelling quality to check just how well the default settings may have performed over historical data that spans various market and broker conditions. That being said, past performance is by no means any indication of future performance and anyone looking to use a forex robot should have a clear understanding of the significant risks involved with trading online, using any manual or automated strategy.

Vantage Point X Back Testing
I couldn’t find any back tests on the Vantage Point X website. This is disappointing as we cannot see how this particular forex robot may have faired over a long period of time through different market conditions. Whilst back tests can never guarantee future performance, they can still give us an idea of what to expect from the Vantage Point X EA.
That being said, if you have the skill and knowledge, you are free to back test the Vantage Point X robot in the MT4 strategy tester to see how it may have performed historically. As the MT4 strategy tester is quite limited, I would use Birts Tick Data Suite to improve upon the back-testing conditions. Birts TDS enables us to back test in MT4 with tick data, variable spreads, including commission, slippage and much more.
Vantage Point X Verified Results
There is a blog section on the Vantage Point X website where the developer shares some trading results, via screenshots. The problem with this, is that the trading activity is not verified. I would personally like the developer to hook the Vantage Point X trading account up to a verification service such as Myfxbook, as I way to validate the traders and analyse the statistics such as drawdown, profit factor, win/loss ratio, win/loss size, duration, net profit/loss, etc.

Vantage Point X Summary
Overall, Vantage Point X and Vantage Point X Elite, look good on the surface but in my opinion, there is some important information missing in order to make an informed decision regarding this forex robot. I believe the developer could improve by adding a series of tick data back tests along with real verified trading accounts for us to confirm the Vantage Point X performance. However, even with excellent results over a sustained period of time, I would be cautious due to the type of money management that this automated system uses. It is personally too risky for my trading style but I understand that there are some users who are happy to use grid/martingale systems. Just be aware of the risks involved if you do.
